A journey to South Korea during World Youth Day 2027 is much more than a visit to a fascinating country. It is an opportunity to experience a unique encounter of faith, culture, tradition and modernity, together with young people from around the world.
South Korea is a land where ancient traditions meet futuristic cities, peaceful temples stand alongside vibrant streets, and centuries-old customs continue to shape everyday life. From the magnificent palaces and historic neighborhoods of Seoul to the peaceful mountains and picturesque landscapes beyond the capital, every place tells a story.
At the heart of this journey, however, is faith and fellowship. During World Youth Day in Seoul, young pilgrims will have the opportunity to pray together, celebrate the Eucharist, meet young Catholics from different countries and experience the universal Church in a truly unique setting. The vibrant energy of Seoul will become the backdrop for moments of prayer, reflection, friendship and celebration.
Our journey will also offer an opportunity to discover Korea’s rich heritage. We will walk through historic palaces and traditional neighborhoods, experience Korean cuisine and hospitality, and visit places that reveal the country’s fascinating history. From the traditional architecture of Gyeongbokgung Palace and Bukchon Hanok Village to the modern skyline of Seoul, Korea offers an extraordinary contrast between the past and the future.
Beyond Seoul, the country’s natural beauty provides another dimension to the journey – green mountains, peaceful valleys, dramatic coastlines and landscapes that have inspired Korean artists and poets for centuries.
World Youth Day Seoul 2027 will be a journey not only across South Korea, but also a journey of faith and discovery – an opportunity to open our hearts to God, to other cultures and to friendships that can last a lifetime.

The trip price has been calculated based on a group of 40 paying participants. This is the minimum number of participants required for the trip to operate.

Family gatherings around shared meals, local customs, traditional rituals, and colorful celebrations create an atmosphere in which visitors can experience the authentic spirit of Korean life. A Cuisine Full of Flavor
From bibimbap in Seoul and bulgogi in Jeonju to fresh seafood in Busan, kimchi, and traditional sweets, Korean cuisine offers an extraordinary journey through diverse and vibrant flavors. Fresh ingredients, carefully prepared dishes, and the tradition of sharing meals are an important part of Korean culture. Korea can be experienced through a delicious meal at a local restaurant, street food enjoyed while exploring the city, or a relaxing cup of tea in a traditional tea house.
Heritage and Nature
Seoul, Gyeongju, Busan, and Jeju each offer a unique glimpse into Korea’s rich history and distinctive architecture. From ancient temples and royal palaces to traditional villages, modern neighborhoods, and contemporary galleries, South Korea is a fascinating blend of past and present. Beyond its cities, spectacular landscapes await – the majestic Seoraksan Mountains, the volcanic island of Jeju, and the lush valleys of Jeolla Province offer breathtaking scenery and moments of peace and tranquility.
Traditions and Festivals
Korea comes alive through music, art, traditions, and celebrations. The cherry blossom festival in Jinhae, traditional tea ceremonies in Seoul, mask dances in Andong, and religious ceremonies at Buddhist temples reflect the country’s rich cultural heritage. Each region has its own unique customs and colorful celebrations, creating a vibrant calendar of events that bring together history, tradition, and the joy of shared experiences.
After breakfast, travel to the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), one of the most significant symbols of the division of the Korean Peninsula. Continue to the War Memorial of Korea, where extensive exhibitions provide insight into the country’s military history and the Korean War.
Please note: Due to military or weather conditions, access to the DMZ may be restricted without prior notice. In such cases, alternative sites related to Korea’s history and reunification will be visited.

After breakfast, enjoy a full-day guided tour of Seoul. Visit the magnificent Gyeongbokgung Palace and watch the traditional Royal Guard Changing Ceremony. Continue to Bukchon Hanok Village, famous for its preserved traditional Korean houses, and explore the lively Insadong Street, known for its art galleries, tea houses, and local crafts. In the afternoon, take the Namsan Cable Car to Seoul Tower Observatory for panoramic views of the city.

Each day is dedicated to participation in the official World Youth Day (WYD) program, including catechesis, prayer, liturgical celebrations, cultural events, and gatherings with pilgrims from around the world. Transportation between the hotel and the WYD venues will be by public transportation, as provided through the official WYD package.

After breakfast, depart for a full-day excursion outside Seoul. Visit the Korean Folk Village, where traditional houses, crafts, and performances recreate life in historic Korea. Continue to Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its impressive Joseon Dynasty architecture and well-preserved walls and gates.

After breakfast, explore the contrast between Seoul’s spiritual heritage and its modern cityscape. Visit Bongeunsa Temple, a peaceful Buddhist temple located in the heart of Gangnam, then continue to COEX Mall and the famous Starfield Library. In the afternoon, ascend to Seoul Sky in Lotte World Tower for spectacular panoramic views of the city. End the day with an evening Han River Cruise, offering a memorable perspective of Seoul’s illuminated skyline.
